Wedding Band Guide for Three Stone Engagement Rings

Three-stone engagement rings are a classic and timeless engagement ring setting choice. There are several different three-stone shape pairings or combinations to suit your personal aesthetic. Three-stone rings certainly make a statement, however, some who chose this timeless engagement ring design have trouble finding wedding bands to pair with their chosen three-stone combination.

An emerald three-stone engagement ring, such as the one shown below, pairs beautifully with many designs. Specifically, this three-stone emerald and step-cut trapezoid ring pairs nicely alongside an emerald-cut eternity band or an east-west baguette eternity band. These two designs reiterate the step-cut facets of the emerald-cut center, maintaining a cohesive look between both the band and engagement ring. Additionally, sometimes pairing a step-cut engagement ring with a brilliant-cut band such as a round band draws more attention to the wedding band, while choosing a step-cut band keeps the emphasis on the diamond center. 3.02 Carat Emerald Cut Diamond Three-Stone Engagement Ring

Oval diamonds pair beautifully with half moon side stones as the curved half-moon shape complements the round edges of an oval center stone. This beautiful ring set in two-toned yellow and white can be paired with many different wedding band designs. One common option is incorporating an oval eternity band. We would pair this ring specifically with an east-west oval band as it matches beautifully yet still keeps the focus on the engagement ring, as the width is thinner than an oval band set in the traditional, vertical orientation. Another option that is a bit more understated is a round diamond eternity band which we have here in yellow gold.

Cushion cut diamonds are becoming more and more popular every year and now cushion three stone combinations are common trends clients often look for. Pairing a cushion with pear-shaped side stones is a very feminine look. To complement this design we recommend an east-west pear shape band that follows the orientation of the side stones and creates an interesting look. A cushion cut eternity band is a beautiful choice as well, especially if you plan on wearing the wedding band alone at work or while traveling.

Asscher 3 stone rings stand out as they are a more unique design. This Asscher 3 stone in particular is even more unique as it is both two-toned and yellow gold. In order to keep the emphasis on this one-of-a-kind design, choosing a band that complements its rare combination is important! This Asscher cut band fits perfectly flush to the ring making it a great choice! Another, more simple choice would be a round-cut eternity band like this one.

That being said, almost all of our wedding bands still fit flush with this unique design!  Here is a matching 3 row rose gold band that really makes the band’s detail stand out.
