Lab-grown diamonds are created using two different methods: high pressure and high temperature (HPHT) or chemical vapor deposition (CVD). - Prongs: These small metal hooks holding the stone(s) in place. The center stone may have a horizontal band connecting the prongs; this creates a basket setting.

- Shoulders: Shoulders refer to the two sides of the ring between the setting and the rest of the band.
